Complete Morocco Tour: 30 Days/ 29 Nights
Itinerary:
Day 1: Casablanca
Pick up from Mohammed V airport. While in Casablanca, you will stop at the Great Hassan II Mosque, the third largest Mosque in the world. You will visit the interior of the Mosque, The Ain Diab Corniche. Diner & overnight.
Day 2: Casablanca- Rabat (1 and ½ hours)
Today you will continue to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. There you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Rabat featuring the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower, the Chellah Necropolis and La Kasbah Des Oudayas. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Rabat – Assilah (2 and ½ hours)
We will drive north of Rabat to visit the Exotic Gardens at Bouknadel. After we will drive along the coast to get to the small coastal town of Assilah. There you will enjoy a walk through the small streets of the Medina to get to the seafront for an enjoyable sunset. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Assilah – Tangier – Assilah (1 hour)
Today we will drive to visit the city of Tangier. The journey will take us to the Medina with its souks and Kasbah plus the squares and the views of the mountains that meet the seas. Back to Assilah later in the day for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Assilah – Chefchauen (2 and ½ hours)
We will drive through the Rif mountains towards Chefchaouen or the white-blue washed town as we call it. Overnight in the Riad in the heart of the hill town.
Day 6: Chefchaouen
After breakfast you will prepare yourself for the tour of the Medina of Chefchaouen. This tour will feature the old part of the hill town and a visit to the famous Kasbah. After an independent lunch at a local restaurant you will continue your visit to the waterfalls at Rass EL Mae where you will see ladies doing laundry and washing up. Late afternoon and evening will be free to spend at your leisure. Dinner in the Riad and overnight.
Day 7: Chefchaouen-Meknes (2 and ½ hours)
Today you will start your drive towards Meknes. After making several stops to enjoy the countryside views along the way, we will stop at the Roman ruins of Volubilis and the small town of Moulay Idriss where we will have a delicious lunch. Then to the Imperial City of Meknes, also known as "the Moroccan Versailles". Meknes, with its monumental gates and city walls, was founded at the end of the 17th century by the Sultan Moulay Ismail. The highlights will include Bab el Mansour (perhaps the finest gateway in Africa), "Dar Jamai" Museum, the old Medina, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, old granaries and stables. Check in. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8 : Meknes – Fes (1 hour)
Departure to Fes. While there we will visit the Jewish area, the Royal palace and we will take a ride along the Remparts. Dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Fes Medina Tour
After breakfast, the entire day will be devoted to sightseeing the city of Fes, the spiritual capital of Morocco. Step back six centuries into the medieval Medina with its narrow and cobbled streets filled with ancient mosques, towering green glazed minarets and crumbling fondouks. Narrow openings into private worlds reveal architecture of peaceful courtyards filled with carved cedar, brilliantly colored mosaic tiles and delicately carved stucco ornaments. Lunch will be at Palais Nejjarine, a beautiful Arab palace. After lunch, we will visit the Attarine and Abou Anania Medersas, the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, and the Karaouine Mosque. In the afternoon, we will visit the countless souks, the famous tanneries and Fes Jdid. Overnight at the Riad.
Day 10: Fes
Cooking class with one of the best chefs in the Medina.
Day 11: Extra day in Fes
Free day in Fes.
Day 12: Fes-Azrou-Midelt (3 and ½ hours)
After enjoying your breakfast we will make our way through the amazing middle Atlas Mountains. First we will do the circuits of lakes including the Aoua lake then through the cedar woods to the town of Ifrane. After we will do Azrou and the Berber village of Ain Leuh. From there we will drive through one of my favorite places in the region and Morocco which is the Oum Rbia river valley and the mountains of Bekrit. Then we will continue till the Berber village of Itzer. Arrival to Midelt later in the day. Overnight at the Riad.
Day 13: Midelt- Erfoud- Merzouga (3 and ½ hours)
Today we will start to go over another mountains chain in Morocco which is the eastern high atlas. After passing the Talghomt pass we will be in the grand canyons of Morocco. Arrival to the city of Errachidia then to Erfoud before reaching the village of Merzouga in the Sahara Desert. Rest for a while and enjoy some desert tea. Take your camel ride to the luxury camp in the heart of the sand dunes.
Day 14: Merzouga- Erfoud-Todra-Dades (3 and ½ hours)
Early morning wake-up to view the awe inspiring sunrise off the Merzouga dunes followed by breakfast then 1 hour camel ride. Drive through Rissani and Erfoud to Todra Gorge. After Lunch you will enjoy your hike in the gorge. Then to Dades valley where you will stay overnight.
Day 15: Dades Valley
1 more day in the Dades valley as this is heaven for photographers and hikers.
Day 16: Dades- Rose Valley- Ouarzazate (1 and ½ hours)
After breakfasts we will drive through the scenic Dades valley till we reach the Gorges from there we will go to the Boutaghrar valley to visit the nomads in their dwellings. Lunch at Mgouna where the valley of roses is located. Later drive to Skoura then to Ouarzazate.
Day 17: Ouarzazate- Marrakesh (4 hours)
After breakfast, departure to the Ait Ben Haddou village where you will visit the ruins of this ancient Kasbah. Lunch at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou before we continue via the Tiz-In-Tichka pass (7,415 ft / 2,260 m) and Taddert to Marrakesh. Check in, Dinner and overnight stay at Riad.
Day 18: Marrakesh Medina tour
Sightseeing of Marrakesh nicknamed "The Pearl of the South,"featuring a visit to the 16th century Saadian Tombs, "Dar Si Said "Museum of Moroccan Arts, the fragrant Menara Gardens, the Koutoubia Minaret and the magnificent Bahia Palace with its extraordinary tiles, opulent courtyard sand fountains. After lunch on your own, you will visit of the Djemmaa-el-Fna Square where fortune-tellers, acrobats, vendors, snake charmers and magicians put on a never-ending show. In the evening, entertainment dinner show at Shahraman restaurant before returning to the Riad for overnight stay.
Day 19: Marrakesh Gardens Tour
Sightseeing of the private gardens of Yves Saint Laurent and the private Islamic Art Museum. Drive along the city ramparts dividing the town into the oldest and the newest parts of Marrakesh. The afternoon is free to spend as you wish me at your disposal. dinner at Al Fassia restaurant and overnight at the Riad.
Day 20: Marrakesh- Taroudant (3 and ½ hours)
We will go to the city of Taroudant which is known as the little Marrakesh. After we will arrive there we will have a walking tour of its medina then go to the Riad.
Day 21: Taroudant- Tafraoute (3 and ½ hours)
Take a scenic roundtrip journey through Anti-Atlas’s remote Ameln Valley to the small village, Tafraoute. See the boulders that surround the village and extend through the entire Ameln valley, changing from pink to gray to gold, depending on the time of day, and the almond trees that are prevalent in the Ameln valley. see the brightly painted houses and friendly Berber people who live here. Spend some time admiring the scenery and browsing the local market.Pass picturesque fortified villages and almond groves, and fields surrounded by prickly pear hedges. Overnight.
Day 22: Tafraoute- Ait Mansour-Tafraoute
Early morning departure to visit the painted Rocks of Tafraoute then make our way over the Anti Atlas mountains to get to the Palm valley of Ait Mansour. There you will enjoy a walk inside the palm groove before departing to the ancient Rock Carving site. Return back to Tafraoute in the afternoon via Akka mine area. Dinner and overnight.
Day 23: Tafraoute- Tiznit-Mirleft (3 and ½ hours)
Our travel today will take us through the Berber villages of the Souss then we will reach the Kerdouss pass, overlooking the Atlantic ocean in distance. Arrive to Tiznit and walk inside its small authentic medina. Lunch there in a local restaurant. Afternoon departure to the beach of Aglou then reach Mirleft later in the day. Dinner and overnight.
Day 24: Free day in Mirleft
Day 25: Mirleft-Sidi Ifni ( ½ hour)
After breakfast, we will go to the town of Sidi Ifni via the famous beach of Lagzira. Dinner and overnight.
Day 26: Sidi Ifni- Agadir (2 and ½ hours)
Return back to Agadir, On the way we will stop at the Massa National Park. Lunch at the village of Sidi Rbat. Arrival to Agadir. Dinner and overnight.
Day 27: Agadir- Essaouira (2 and ½ hours)
After breakfast, you will depart for the romantic seaside town of Essaouira. After arrival and check-in, a sightseeing tour of the city will feature Essaouira's typical Portuguese harbor) portraying influences of both Moorish and Portuguese design. Highlights will include the fishing harbor and the Skala (the Battery) left by the pirates. The afternoon is free to spend at leisure. Overnight.
Day 28: free day in Essaouira
Day 29: Essaouira- Oualidia-EL Jadida (3 and ½ hours)
After breakfast, the morning is free to spend at your leisure before departure to El Jadida with a stop at El Oualidia where you will stop for lunch. Continuation along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean to reach El Jadida where you will be given a quick orientation tour. After arrival you will check-in and spend the night at the hotel. Overnight.
Day 30: Casablanca airport (1 and ½ hours)
After breakfast, transfer to Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport for your return flight. Assistance with the boarding formalities.
